NEU: Handgeschöpftes Papier Handmade Paper – From Leaves to Japanese Washi

A workshop with Polish textile and paper artist Jonatan E. Jurkowski. The workshop will be held in English! We will make handmade papers from different plant-based materials (leaves, hay, cotton cellulose, Japanese kōzo). We will start by preparing the fibers (soaking, cooking, dyeing, blending), then we will draw paper using both methods: European and Japanese – that requires multiple drawing. With a series of different techniques, we will make plane paper sheets and learn how to close objects inside of them, ‘paper paintings’ using resist technique and 3D object. Additional material will be brought by the participants, a list of materials will be sent beforehand.
